Evergreen, small, palm-like tree, usually forming a singly trunk and bearing several stout, ascending branches. Extremely attractive, long, sword-like leaves, green on the top and red on the underside and midrib. Flowers are small, creamy white and fragrant, and are produced in terminal panicles during early Summer. Easily grown under all conditions and adds a tropical feel to the garden. Excellent for pots and landscaping.
Cordyline australis is a slow growing tree featuring dramatic strap-shaped leaves that create a palm-like look. In Spring it boasts small, scented white flowers.
