Botanical Name: Agave Attenuata 150mm Pot / Common Name: Fox-tail Agave, Lion’s Tail Agave, Swan’s Neck Agave

 

The Agave is an accent to any garden and is especially popular in modern garden designs. Its large and bold structures distinctify it against other plants and adds an interesting touch to simple gardens.

 

Features:

  • Tight rosettes of pale, green leaves

  • With maturity comes a long, arching flower spike covered in cream-white flowers (however this may take up to 10 years and depends on location)

  • one of the easiest plants to establish and maintain

  • Non-spiky foliage so that it is not a danger to any garden

Position:

Full sun to part shade.

Ideal For:

  • Decorative pots

  • Garden beds

  • Architectural feature  

  • pots and containers

  • rockeries

  • embankments

Height at Maturity:

up to 1m

Environment Conditions:

  • Soil: well-drained soil

  • Moisture: watered regularly (once every week or two) should be watered more in the hotter and dryer seasons compared to the cooler seasons.

  • Durability: requires protection from frost. Best at normal temperature during growth period and a cooler temperature during their rest period.

Care:

  • Preferably should be watered regularly, but will thrive in periods of dryness.

  • For strong healthy growth fertilise every 3 to 6 months with a slow release fertiliser.
