For a dense advanced hedge, we generally recommend planting these 115L Murraya approximately 800mm to 1.2 metres apart, measured from the centre of each plant.

Growing Conditions

Murraya grows best in full sun to part shade. A position with good sunlight will generally encourage denser foliage and stronger flowering, provided the plants receive sufficient water.

Planting Massive 115L Murraya

These advanced plants are extremely large and heavy. Each plant may weigh approximately 80kg, depending on how recently it has been watered, so suitable lifting equipment and multiple capable people may be required.

• Dig a planting hole approximately twice the width of the root ball.
• Do not dig the hole deeper than the existing root ball.
• Carefully remove the plant from the 650mm pot.
• Position the top of the root ball level with the surrounding soil.
• Backfill carefully around the root system.
• Water deeply immediately after planting.
• Apply mulch around the planting area.
• Install drip irrigation when planting a complete hedge.

Watering and Establishment

Large advanced plants require consistent watering during their establishment period. The original root ball should remain evenly moist but should not be left permanently waterlogged.

Deep watering is generally more effective than frequent shallow watering because it encourages the roots to move into the surrounding soil.

A drip irrigation system is strongly recommended when planting multiple 115L Murraya plants as a hedge.

Trimming and Care
